| Jake! Back from the north country and the RMNR in Creede, Colorado! Sara and I are *glad* to hear of the potentially good outcome from your bout with cancer! Such events have a rather sobering effect on your psyche, etc., etc., etc. <G> Just keep on truckin' Watch your top knot! |

Well I have survived the first round with colon cancer. They took out 3/4 of it and said they got it all. No chemo and everything looks good. I have nothing but kudo's for the Dallas VA. They treated me like a KING and with the most respect I have ever seen since retireing in 1979. HOAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH |

| One More Tri State Plus Newsletter |

I have to add another newsletter that I sent out the same day as telling others about 60 minutes and its segment on the VA, aired last evening. This comes from a great person, poredevil, Ed Louis Henry of Bozeman, Montana, now now asked people to call him SEMICOLON <G> Clearly the VA medical system has improved substantially in the process of medically caring for its veterans. I had reported some time ago about the problems of the Blue Water Navy and Agent Orange. |

Address for Hamilton's Store (not in another newsletter which told about Ron Hamilton falling on hard times)
From: rendezvousramblings@yahoogroups.com on behalf of Debra (froggie1522@yahoo.com) Sent: Mon 1/04/10 12:46 PM To: RendezvousRamblings@yahoogroups.com
If anyone hears anything about Ron please let me know. The address of the store is
Ron 'Tennessee' Hamilton Hamilton Dry Goods 4075 Roberts Matthews Hwy. Sparta, Tennessee 38583 931-739-6061
I do not suspect to hear anything about Tennessee. They have to shrink a tumor on his spine before they can attack his lung cancer.

I started the new year changing the mast head on my tri state rondy and WES newsletter to Tri State PLUS. I found out that I was reporting on a lot of stuff outside of Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas. They amount only to one copy issues, 'cause that is what I am capable of doing<G>
If you wish to get on the mailing list for future issues: please drop me your name, address, etc. along with your email to Chuck Hamsa at squeezebox1@hotmail.com

How many of you good folks are planning to be at the Southwest Regional Rendezvous here in Texas in a couple of weeks? It is from Mar16-25. I will be there the first weekend at least, and I talked to Jake da Snake this weekend and he is coming. I think ol Patch is coming. I joined at the RMNR last year at Creede and hope to see more of you at the SWRR if you can make it. I wish I could make it to the RMNR again this year but that ain't gona happen.

| [/face] This year at the Ft, Brigger Rendezvoue I Meet a Fellow War Eagle who Had lost his son. He was A Marine K.I.A. in Iraq, I did not find this out untill Monday when every one was breaking down, Well this meeting got me to thinking that something should have been said or done not only for this Man's son but for all the Men and Wemen we have Lost in Afganastan and Iraq. Having attended several Rendezvoues this year and never hearing any mention of these Fallen Warriors only fallen Buckskinners. I Have started laying the ground work for a Memorial to be held at the 2007 Brigger Rendezvoues, I need all the Help I can get, Plea ...

Sure - Kinda' anti-climactic, really: After 25 years or so of buckskinning, I made a dumb mistake while splitting wood on the morning of the 9th and cut my left index finger to the bone near the first knuckle. After a quick clean-up with hot water and whiskey, I wrapped it with a couple of cleaning patches and secured the whole mess with some tape that was in my shooting box and promised my partner that I'd go to the 1st Aid tent that afternoon.
Welllll, that stretched into the following afternoon, after we were done shooting... We had to pass right by the big red cross, anyway and Moki was kind enough to not only give me a proper cleaning and "patch job" but also refrained from telling me what a dipstick I'd been in the f...

[img][/img]I enjoy hearing about what other people are doing to get their gear ready for the living history experience. I am perhaps a weird duck in that I enjoy geatting ready gear and such for any future event.
I used to blacksmith, but as a volunteer at various living history installations. But it took on the form of a duty, which authorities began to expect my attendance. Thus, I flushed that form of activity.
I would like to hear from others about what they do : beading, sewing, woodworking, etc. as I learn from others. |
